In tumultuous times of uncertainty, where do we find security? In seasons of instability, we come face to face with a variety of emotions: Fear. Anger. Sadness. Confusion. Anxiety. The book of Psalms embraces these emotions head on. It teaches us to ask the hard questions of God and put his promises to the test. If we allow it to, the book of Psalms can train our hearts to cling to God’s promises and character despite our circumstances. The resolutions are rarely neat and tidy. But if we embrace the messiness of clinging to God’s promises and character, we will be rewarded with the full assurance of security in God’s lovingkindness and faithfulness.
