Pastoral Search: For Members

General Updates

Pathway Community Church is currently in the process of finding a new Senior Pastor. The search process is being conducted through the Converge Network who has developed a six stage process for the search.

We are currently in Stage five:  Candidating. We have completed our zoom and in-person interviews, reference and background checks. The committee has unanimously recommended Samuel (Sam) Speck for the position of Pathway's next lead pastor. The elder board has offered Sam the position and he has accepted the position as Pathway's next lead pastor.

Sam is married to Holland and they have 3 small children, 4 years and younger. They are looking forward to filling our nursery.  Sam has 8 years of experience as associate and youth pastor in Ohio. He trained at Moody Bible Institute and is currently finishing his Master's degree in Counseling. He chose to get a Master's in counseling because he felt that the church is filled with broken people and a degree in counseling would serve the body of believers well.

Sam is no stranger to Pathway. After completing his studies at Moody Bible, he interned at Pathway with Kirt Wiggins for 2 years. Sam is looking forward to continuing and growing his relationship with Pathway and the Elmhurst community. He strongly believes that God is calling him to Pathway. Because of that calling Sam and Holland have decided to leave their current church that they love and where they are loved to serve at Pathway.

We are in the process of scheduling a visit for Sam and his family to be introduced to Pathway's congregation. More information about this visit will be available soon.

We continue to seek your prayers for Sam, his family, and the Pathway family. There is still much work to be done to help Sam's family relocate. Also as Pathway looks forward to our next pastor, we need to be in prayer that we would be open to new directions and be ready to follow God's calling.
