I'm so proud of our church!
That’s how I felt this past Sunday as we commissioned five mentors and five prayer partners to serve at-risk kids at Conrad Fischer Elementary School.
Over two decades ago, Dr. Virgil Gulker researched a question that led to Kids Hope USA’s launch: how can churches have the greatest impact on America’s at-risk children?
After gathering input from sociologists, law enforcement, health professionals, educators, and child development experts, one response appeared on the top of everybody’s lists: fill the relational voids in kids’ lives. In other words, send people to personally meet with students who need reliable, caring adult relationships; and start with children in the earliest grades. Since then Kids Hope USA has been building life-changing relationships one at a time: One Child. One Hour. One School. One Church.
Pathway has recently initiated an exciting partnership with Kids Hope USA to make a difference in the lives of at-risk children one child at a time.
